Frequently Asked Questions
Sending Wild Turkey Feathers
Should I choose store credit or have my own feathers processed?
For most customers, I recommend store credit. You can exchange your usable feathers for credit toward finished fletching and other products, rather than waiting for your exact feathers to be individually processed. Store credit offers greater value than a cash sale; see the feather value chart for the current rates.
If you harvested the turkey yourself and those feathers are meaningful to you, I understand wanting to keep them. That's exactly why I also offer custom processing and return of your own feathers.
How long does custom feather processing take?
Typical turnaround is 8–12 weeks for custom processing of your own feathers. For feathers submitted for cash or store credit, the current selling instructions state approximately 1–2 weeks for inspection and valuation. These are different services with different timelines.
How should I prepare and ship my feathers?
Use a box large enough to avoid bending or crushing the quills, and include your name, email address, shipping address, and whether you prefer store credit, cash, or custom processing. Breaking down a wing can reduce shipping weight and make inspection easier. If you send feathers still attached to a wing, follow the preparation instructions carefully. Visit our video instructions and the appropriate sell or trade or processing page before shipping.
How do I confirm that my feathers arrived?
Use the Contact Us form or email info@wildfletching.com with your name and available tracking information. If a different name appears on the package's return label, mention it in your message.
Shopping and Orders
Can I order a feather option that isn't ready to ship?
Some product listings offer custom-order quantities or options in addition to ready-to-ship stock. Check the options on the specific listing to see what can be ordered and allow additional preparation time for made-to-order feathers.
Can I correct an order if I selected the wrong wing or cut?
Contact info@wildfletching.com with your order number and the correction as soon as possible. Changes may be possible before your order ships.
What's the best way to contact Wild Fletching?
Email info@wildfletching.com or use the contact form. Email helps me keep order details organized while spending time preparing customers' feathers.
