Process Your Feathers

 

We take naturally durable wild turkey feathers and transform them into custom fletchings favored by traditional archers around the world. You can sell them to us here or if your feathers have sentimental value to you, you can get your own feathers processed. 

• For only $10 we will ensure you receive your own feathers back. After that, Feather grinding is $0.50 each or 1 for 1 trade: 1 feather traded in equals 1 free feather ground (primary for primary, secondary for secondary)
• Chopping to shape of your choice is $0.20 per feather
• Dyeing with our premium dyes is $0.30 per feather
• Typical turnaround time is 8-12 weeks
• You will then be emailed an invoice to pay for the processing and shipping

 

  

How does this work?

Step 1. Package your feathers

Gather up all of the feathers you would like processed either still on the wing or cut off, and loosely pack them in a shipping box. Stuffing them into a smaller box may damage them beyond repair. If feathers are still on the wing, all meat must be removed and the base of the wing covered in borax to dry.

When cutting feathers off the of the wing, use side cutters, cable cutters, or my favorite, 3-in-1 multi-cutters to cut the quill at the base of each feather. For visual demonstration of removing feathers, see Video Instructions.

Left wing, Right wing, primary and secondary feathers are all accepted. All feathers will be inspected for quality once received. Damaged or soiled feathers will not be counted. 

 

Step 2. Add a note

Include a note in your box with your contact information, INCLUDING YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS, and which of the following options you would like: 

NOTE: Packages received with no note will incur additional turnaround time.

 

Process all your feathers- If you would like all of YOUR feathers ground and returned there is a base charge of $10 and then $0.50 per feather processed full length.

-Optional Chopping is $0.20 per feather

-Optional Dyeing is $0.30 per feather

-We will email you an invoice to pay for the processing and shipping when your feathers are finished. Typical turnaround time is 8-12 weeks.

 

Trade Half-  If you would like half of YOUR feathers ground and returned, there is a base charge of $10 and then I will keep one feather per one feather processed full length, waiving the $0.50 per feather grinding fee. This trade is primary for primary, or secondary for secondary.

-Optional Chopping is $0.20 per feather

-Optional Dyeing is $0.30 per feather

-We will email you an invoice to pay for the order and shipping when your feathers are finished. Typical turnaround time is 8-12 weeks.
